Faculty Association Committee Minutes

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10pm.

Members Present:

Ajayi Adelwale, Sharon Cobb, Sid Rosenberg, Doreen Radjenovic

Members Absent:

Arturo Sanchez, Henry Thomas, Steven Williamson

Richard Crosby, Tom Serwatka

I.	Approval of Minutes:
	Minutes from the October 13, 2004 meeting are available on the Faculty Association and committee Blackboard sites.

II.	Introductory Remarks/Old Business:
	Doreen Radjenovic met with President Delany in October to discuss the duties and responsibilities of the Strategic Planning Committee. A draft of the Strategic Plan with additional detail since the administrative retreat will be made available to the committee for review. It was suggested that the committee not focus on Academic Learning Compacts at this time.

III.	New Business/Agenda Items/Information Reports
	Richard Crosby presented the updated Master Plan -- a map of the Final Conceptual Development Plan dated 11-2-04 to the committee and questions were answered. Committee members generally supported the plan as presented and commented on the industrial development site, roads, parking, entrances, and icons. Tom Serwatka distributed a draft copy of the Strategic Plan for 2004-2005 through 2009-2010. It was suggested that the committee focus a review of the plan on elements most closely related to faculty such as "student learning" and "quality faculty." Ideas for committee work related to strategic planning were discussed including facilitating faculty input into the selection and development of "flagship programs."
