The committee continued discussion of the Student Assessment of Instruction guidelines in the Faculty Handbook. The primary issue was the language concerning the release of the results of the assessements to the public. The decision was made to return this item to the Executive Committee for consideration for the February FA agenda with a recommendation that the current "release of results" section remain unchanged.

The committee voted to change the language of the current guidelines item (e) to read as follows: "courses with an enrollment of ten or less may be excluded from this student assessment."

The committee considered the issue of scheduling exams in the week before finals-should the current university policy be changed? By unanimous vote, the committee decided to not forward any recommendation for changing the current policy.

The meeting dates for the spring semester meetings of the committee were set on Thursday following the Faculty Association meeting on the first Thursday of the month. Meeting time is 12 noon. Members of the committee expressed the view that reminder notices from the committee chair are helpful.
