Old Business
1. 

UTC report – Items of interest from May 2 meeting.

-- A new action team is being created for Classroom Technology. A CTC representative will be included on this new committee.

-- UNF has a green building organization open to faculty, staff, and students. David Lambert, CCEC, is the advisor.

-- The first phase of the Wireless Initiative is in place. CCB and Wackadoo’s are fully functional. Building 14, the area between 1 &2, and other common areas are coming soon. Full deployment is expected by Fall term. A coverage map is available at http://www.unf.edu/dept/its/wireless/

-- UNF has attached to the high-speed Internet FL Lambda Rail (FLR) and testing is in progress. UNF will access Internet2 for research and education through an agreement with UF. http://www.internet2.edu/

-- ITS announced the Network & System Status message on its home page http://www.unf.edu/dept/its/. Eventually, a status message will be available on the HelpDesk and main UNF phone lines.

Distance Learning Committee (DLC) report – DL Handbook is finished and the marketing plan should be ready by Spring term.

   
3.

OFE/CIRT update.

-- B etter Understanding for Informed Learning Design (BUILD) Spring Seminar is May 16-18 for faculty interested in improving their teaching, learning and scholarship.

-- Application deadline for Fall 05/Spring 06 Faculty Fellows is May 13.

ITS update.

-- The Classroom Technology template was received for final approval. It has been sent to the C-techs to complete for each room. Decato will begin linking to new documents when received on ITS’s “Classroom Equipment link” pages (https://csdweb.unf.edu/compserv/info/techclass.html)

It was suggested we have faculty teaching in these rooms this summer evaluate the documents.

-- Reminder: Contact Marianne Jaffee to secure agenda time for C-Techs at Fall Faculty Orientation.
   
5.

Banner update.

-- UNF has negotiated with USF and SCT to use USF’s Admissions modifications to Banner as part of the “Florida Baseline” modifications to be incorporated into Banner for several Florida institutions.

-- Replacement of “Administrative Applications” for Banner is on-going, with the appearance of several items under Faculty Self Service to view Fall classes.
   
New Business.
1.

OFE is interested in evaluating the use of podcasting for the delivery of synchronous conversations, audio-logs, etc. Review the links below to find out more about podcasting.

-- Are we prepared to meet the needs of faculty using new tools, such as web logs (blogs)?

Question: Can Turnitin be integrated with BlackBoardv6 ?

Election of Chair for 2005-2006 is postponed until June. Come prepared to nominate and vote!

Fall Schedule must be set at June meeting. Bring calendar !
