The following were activities of the Faculty Association Adjunct Affairs Committee in 2006-2007.  Note:  due to low attendance at the first meetings, all committee business was done via email to and between members of the committee. 

(1) Committee looked into certain adjunct concerns related to the so-called “Parking Voucher” payment and we addressed the issue; however, the cost of parking for adjuncts should be further considered.

(2) The Committee decided that a Blackboard community-group for adjuncts would be beneficial to them.  They could communicate their issues and concerns with one another as well as with the Adjunct Committee.  After further discussing said Blackboard community with the Executive Committee, and receiving their support, several emails were sent to Blackboard administrators, but as of the time of this writing, the Blackboard Adjunct community has not been set up. 

(3) Adjunct compensation seems to be the primary concern of adjuncts (seeing as how they received their first raise—after 27 years—in 1999, and have received no raise since then); however, the budgetary crisis means that this concern cannot be addressed.  It was decided that, at the very least, a report should be written concerning the topic of UNF’s compensation for adjuncts.  Every university in the SUS was contacted and much data was collected—this will be forwarded to the new committee so that they can write up such a report if it is deemed important.
