QUESTION SYNOPSIS-II:
In the Faculty Handbook, in the Procedures on Promotion and Tenure, Section 5.3 states:
5.3 Promotion and Tenure Policies and Procedures
“Administrators who seek tenure and promotion must do so on the basis of their teaching, scholarship, and service contributions, rather than on the basis of their administrative duties.”
The question for the committee is whether administrative duties in Higher Education are considered “service.”
