Minor: Computer Science for IS Majors |
Summary of the Changes:
The faculty of the School of Computing have determined majors in the School of Computing shall be restricted from taking minors offered by the School of Computing. Computing minors will remain available to majors outside of Computing. Minors currently offered by the School of Computing are: Information Science (University-wide), Computer Science (University-wide), and Computer Science for Information Science majors. The Computer Science minor tailored for Information Science majors is no longer required. Deletion of this iteration of the Computer Science minor is requested.

Summary of the Changes:
The faculty of the School of Computing have determined majors in the School of Computing shall be restricted from taking minors offered by the School of Computing. Computing minors will remain available to majors outside of Computing. Minors currently offered by the School of Computing are: Information Science (University-wide), Computer Science (University-wide), and Computer Science for Information Science majors. [A request is pending to delete the Computer Science for Information Science minor.] This request is to remove the School of Computing minors as options for all tracks of the BS in Computer & Information Science, effective Spring 2010 and beyond, not retroactively. No modification of the programs of study for the BS in CIS is required. The following statement will be inserted in the programs of study for the Computer Science and Information Science minors under 'Conditions for the minor:' "This minor is not available to majors in Computer and Information Science."
