COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES
When major changes were made in the educational leadership program in the Fall of 2001, the credit hour requirement for the instructional leadership track was inadvertently increased to 39 semester hours because EDS 6050 was listed, in error, twice under major requirements. This program track is designed for students who seek leadership careers working with adults in a variety of educational institutions and human services / resource development settings. To better accommodate the specialized academic content needs and professional interests of our students, we are reducing the prescribed "major electives" from 9 to 6 semester hours, and increasing the contextual course requirement from 3 to 6 semester hours, thus allowing the student greater elective choice.
The request seeks to (1) Move 3 courses [EDA 6945, EDA 6330, EDG 6285] from major requirements to major electives, (2) Move 2 courses [EDA 6061 and EDA 6503] from major elective to major requirements, (3) Remove 3 courses [EEC 6611, EEC 6205 and EDE 6225] from the major electives that are from another college department and were incorrectly added to the program of study due to clerical errors, (4) Correct the required major requirements and major electives semester hours to reflect the changes approved by the faculty in 2001-2002, and (5) Correct the course number listing for one course [EDA 6302].
