Sciences : Track: Information Sciences |
| ABET accreditation guidelines for Information
Science programs state the curriculum must include at least
9 semester hours of quantitative analysis including statistics.
In order to conform to these guidelines, we are adding a statistics
course (STA2023, 3 credits) as a foundation class for this track
and decreasing the free elective category from 9 to 6 credits. |

BS: Electrical Engineering: Track:
Systems Design |
| This request is to modify the System Design Track
of Electrical Engineering to better prepare the students for
the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination. This is accomplished
by the change of the Mechanics requirements. In addition, three
new courses are added to Technical Electives. These will add
a new focus area in Power to the already existing focus areas
of Communications, Solid State Electronics, and DSP and Control.
Engineering Mechanics is replaced by separate courses in Statics
and Dynamics. One course is added to Core Requirements. The
Major requirement is changed to selection of 3 out of 4 courses.
Technical Electives are increased to 11 hours. Three new courses
are added to Technical Electives. |
