Bachelor of Education: Physical Education:
Sport Leadership Track

| This represents changes
to the upper division program of study for the Sport Leadership
Track, as requested by faculty, which will permit the Sport
Leadership Track to grow and also maintain a currency with national
curricular trends in sport management. The changes consist have
the addition of one new course (PET 3XXX - Sport Marketing);
the addition of an already existing course (MMC 3614 - Principles
of Media and Society) as a specialization requirement; the addition
of specialization requirement of a choice between ACG 2021 -
Principles of Financial Accounting (3 credit) or FIN 3140 Personal
Finance (3 cr.). There have been no course deletions and several
course changes that include the removal of CORE requirements,
the optional field electives (3 cr. From PE, Health, Bus. Admin)
becoming required field electives and the removal of the specialization
requirement. |

The course provides a basic knowledge and understanding of the
principles of sport marketing as applied to the sport industry.
Emphasis is on critical analysis in sport marketing management
theory as it applies to the sport industry.
No new faculty or additional resources are required for this
course. |
