Corerequisites: None
In this class students will be introduced to the creative uses of musical material, traditional musical forms, developmental procedures and performance resources. Various short works of twentieth century composers will be used as models.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Music Composition I (MUT 2XXX)
Corerequisites: None

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Music Composition IV (MUT 3XXX)
Corerequisites: None
This class is for the advanced composition student. The emphasis at this level will be on technical excellence, musical sophistication and originality. It is expected that students in this class will work on larger, multi-movement projects. Performance of finished works on Performance Lab or in a special recital is encouraged.

02-065 APC 1 MUT 4XXX Music Composition VI (1 cr.)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Music Composition V (MUT 4XXX)
Corerequisites: None
This class is for the advanced composition student. The emphasis at this level will be on technical excellence, musical sophistication and originality. Larger individual projects will provide a focus for the semester's work. An individual composition recital is encouraged for students completing this sixth semester of study.

02-086 APC 1 MUG 3XXX Advanced Instrumental
Conducting (1-2 cr.)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Theory II (MUT 1112) and Basic
Conducting (MUG 3101)

This course will engage in an intensive study of the art of conducting, score preparation/analysis, and rehearsal techniques.
