Administration of Student Opinion Instrument

With regard to the administration of a university-sanctioned and/or department-sanctioned student opinion instrument for summative purposes, the faculty recommends:

 

  1. that a student opnion instrument shall be administered by non-tenured faculty in every course taught in every term, and by tenured faculty in every course in at least one term the faculty member selects from the academic year;

  2. that the following practice be used for the administration of the instrument:

    1. that the actual administration of the instrument be consistent with present practice; and
    2. that student opinion tabulations be returned to the faculty member not prior to the date on which grades must be turned in, but no later than the end of the second week of the term following the term of their administration.

Time Line for The Reporting of Results

Results are to be returned to the faculty member not prior to the date on which grades must be turned in, but no later than the end of the second week of the term following the term of their administration.

The results for the preceding spring and fall semesters are to be available to the public no later than the end of February of each year.
