Faculty
Representation on the local Board of Trustees
|
| |
The local Board of Trustees for the University
of North Florida should include official faculty representation.
|
| |
| Rationale: |
| |
The process of planning for and selecting
possible members of the local Board of Trustees for the
University of North Florida is taking place now. This new
Board will make strategic decisions critical to the future
of the university affecting all areas of our teaching, research,
and service mission. Shared governance is the traditional
mechanism by which faculty plays an active and responsible
role in these matters. This collegial system is most effective
when it permeates all levels of educational governance.
In order to include the unique voice of the faculty in the
decision-making process, the Board of Trustees of the University
of North Florida must include a faculty representative.
