RE: Tenure and Promotion Report to the Faculty Association
In accord with the procedures outlined in the Faculty Handbook, I am submitting the following report:
In 1999-2000 there were 12 tenure and/or promotion cases under consideration. I positively recommended 2 of 5 tenure candidates. I positively recommended 2 of 4 promotion to Association Professor candidates. I positively recommended the 3 promotion to Professor candidates. My judgments in the 12 above instances were identical to those of the University Committee except for 2 of the 3 promotion to Professor cases.
The P&T process is the most significant mechanism UNF has for ensuring a high quality faculty. I thank all those that have shared in honoring its fairness and rigor.
