Proposed Mission Statement for the Office of Faculty Enhancement

Mission Statement: Office of Faculty Enhancement.

The Office of Faculty Enhancement at the University of North Florida is charged to support full and part time faculty in teaching, research, and service so as to advance the University's quest for excellence as a comprehensive university. The Office promotes sound pedagogy through workshops, confidential consultation by faculty initiative, organization of informal discussion groups, support of technological applications, and information dissemination. It informs faculty of support available elsewhere on campus for professional activities--for example, through the Division of Sponsored Research and Training, the Center for Instruction and Research Technology (which it supervises), and Instructional Communications. Finally, the Office seeks to establish a university culture that encourages innovation, cooperation, and ongoing professional development.
