A. Accounting and Finance

99-048 APC3   Minor in Banking and Finance
This request is to create a 15-hour minor to meet the demands of Accounting and International Business majors. The courses required in this new minor are already offered in the Accounting and Finance curriculum.


99-049 APC3   BBA Banking and Finance - Real Estate track
This request is to remove FIN3303 from the list of required courses and replace it with FIN3233. FIN3233 more closely fits the description of course requirements as indicated in the Field Review of the Department of Education report.


99-050 APC3   BBA Financial Services - Financial Planning track

This course is to be removed. It will no longer be used as a required course in Accounting and Finance.


99-055 APC1 FIN 3233 Money and Banking (3 cr)
This course is being added to the Accounting and Finance curriculum as a required course in Banking and Finance and Financial Services. It examines the structure and operations of our monetary system, commercial banking, central banking, money and capital markets, and provides an introduction to monetary theory and policy.


B. Economics and Geography

99-059 APC1 GIS 3xxx Introduction to Geographic Info Systems (3 cr)
This course is designed to give students an introduction to the basic concepts, theory, and methods of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Concepts and theory will be supplemented by hands-on experience with GIS software.


99-060 APC1 GIS 4xxx Intermediate Geographic Info Systems (3 cr)
This course expands on the concepts, techniques, and theories introduced in GIS 3xxx. Students will learn advanced techniques of spatial data creation and advanced methods of spatial analysis.


99-063 APC1 ECO 3xxx Law, Economics, and Public Policy (3 cr)
This interdisciplinary course deals with the interaction among the area of law, economics, and public policy. It focuses on the economic effects and content of legal rules.


C. Management, Marketing and Logistics

99-064 APC1 BUL 4xxx International Business Law (3 cr)
This course examines the legal problems that arise in commercial transactions and relations when business organizations cross national boundaries.


99-066 APC1 MAN 2xxx Intro to Global Business (3 cr)
This course provides an overview of the environment under which global business operates.


99-067 APC1 MAN 4xxx Comparative Business Practices: European Union & the U.S. (3 cr)
This course studies the similarities/differences in business management practices in the countries of the European Union and the United States. Universality of management practices is a central issue. Special attention is given to EU, APEC and NAFTA influences.


99-070 APC1 TRA 69xx Special Topics in Logistics (v. 1-3 cr)
This course allows students to study special topics not offered in other courses in the department. May be repeated with a change in content up to a maximum of six credits.


99-150 APC1 MAN 4xxx Organization Ethics: A Global Perspective (3 cr)
This new elective course provides a thorough grounding in the principles of ethics as applied to the business firm and other organizations, the economic system of the US and international business. This course will be cross-listed with COAS Philosophy.
