Courses have been changed to be consistent with new courses in Graphic Design Major. [the] New course schedule in Graphic Design Track have replaced courses in the minor. Changes will make it more consistent. The new courses (already approved by Faculty Association) are: ART 2230C-Graphic Design; ART 3607C-PrePress Production;
ART 3270C-Graphic Design II; ART 4491C-Digital Imaging. Course changes are: ART 4682-Adv. Computer Images to ART 4682C-Graphic Design III. The following courses have been deleted: ADV 3003C-Layout & Production; ADV 3200-Ad Design; ART 2600C-Computer Images; ART 4270C-Publication/Package Design.

98-085   APC 3 Communications & Visuals Arts / Photography Minor

This is a request to change one elective in the program of study. The Department wishes to drop ART 2600C-Computer Images because it has been leveled from 3600 to 2600. In its place they propose as an elective ART 2605C-Basic Computer Images. A course already in place..

98-086   APC 3 Communications & Visuals Arts / BFA: Painting/Drawing

This track has been adversely affected by the course number leveling process. Students currently in the program do not have enough 3000-4000 level courses for graduate school. There is also a need to increase program hours to meet accreditation requirements as per BOR mandate. The change request requires three new courses: ART 3XXXC- Figure Drawing II; ART 3XXXC-Figurative Painting; ART 4XXXC- Painting/Drawing Research.

98-087   APC 3 Communications & Visual Arts / B.A.-Painting, Drawing

Due to state leveling of courses, the upper division course numbers were dropped or lowered. We have had to introduce new courses and course numbers that compensate for those changes. Under the old program, students no longer have enough upper level courses to graduate. The new proposed courses are: ART 3XXXC-Figure Drawing II; ART 4XXXC-[Painting/Drawing] Research; ART 3XXXC-Figurative Painting.
