Term/Grade Forgiveness Policy

The Academic Standards Committee recommends that
this additional sentence be added to the section on Grade Forgiveness
Policy and Term Forgiveness in the UNF University undergraduate
catalog (page 28, as it appears in the 1998-1999 catalog). "This
forgiveness policy does not override individual policies within
academic programs."
Grade Forgiveness Policy and Repeated Courses
Under the Grade Forgiveness Policy of the Faculty Association, undergraduate
students seeking their first baccalaureate degree may improve their
GPA by repeating a course and requesting that the repeated grade
be the one counted in the GPA calculation. Only two such requests
are available to any student during their undergraduate career.
The repeated course must be the same course as taken previously
and must be completed at UNF. To invoke the forgiveness policy,
the student must submit the requisite form to the Registrar's Office
after completion of the repeated course. This forgiveness
policy does not override individual policies within academic programs.
Grade forgiveness request will not be processed after a student
graduates. . . .
Term Forgiveness
An undergraduate degree-seeking student may request term forgiveness,
which involves a student's petition to retroactively withdraw from
one academic term of work because of personal or financial problems.
This forgiveness policy does not override individual policies
within academic programs. The following guidelines apply
to a petition for Term Forgiveness: . . .
