Use of Music and Amplified Sound in the Courtyard
and on the Green
|
|
To maintain a campus environment that fosters
excellent teaching, which is the University's main institutional
priority:
| 1. |
No music or any
activity involving amplified sound shall be permitted in the
Courtyard while classes are in session, Monday through Saturday.
|
| 2. |
Amplified sound
can be permitted on the Green only between noon and 1:30 p.m.,
Monday through Saturday Friday,
but no more frequently than three times a semester. When events
involving amplified sound are scheduled on the Green, the
Office of Student Development will notify faculty teaching
in Buildings 9, 11, and 15 at least one week prior to the
event, in order that attempts may be made to relocate classes,
if desired. Amplifiers used during these events must be pointed
south toward the Andrew Robinson Student Life Center.
|
| 3. |
Beginning
in the Fall of 2001, no amplified sound will be permitted
on the Green Monday through Saturday except between noon and
1:30 p.m. When events involving amplified sound are scheduled
on the Green, the Office of Student Development will continue
the practice of notifying faculty teaching in buildings adjacent
to the Green at least one week prior to the event. Amplifiers
used during these events must continue to be pointed south
toward the Andrew Robinson Student Life Center. |
