Summary of the Changes:
This request is for creation of a new certificate program focused on the provision of health services to the aging community. The impetus for this program is based on community need. Specific requests for continuing education at the graduate level have come from the long-term care provider community and community based aging services program providers. The certificate will consist of five existing 3-credit courses for a total of 15 credit hours. The courses that make up the certificate are: GEY 6623 Aging and Health Policy, HSC 6560 Aging and Health in a Multicultural Society, HSC 6737 Applied Research in Aging, HSA 6225 Long-Term Care Administration, and HSA 6813 Aging Capstone. No new faculty or additional resources are required for this program.
