QUESTION SYNOPSIS-I:
Do you think it hurts faculty morale to see a fresh Assistant Professor in CCB at a higher salary than all but three or four FULL Professors across the university?

QUESTIONER-II:
DATE ASKED: WRITTEN RESPONSES:

Chief Information Officer

QUESTION SYNOPSIS-II:
UNF’s ITS is currently blocking educational institutions, such as the highly prestigious Hawaii Institute for Geophysics and Planetology, with no verification of  abuse by the blocked system,
no notification to the system’s operator of the blocked institution, and no notification of the UNF faculty being isolated from the workgroup hosted by the blocked university or college.

  1. How many educational institutions are currently being blocked by ITS?
  2. How many of these are Florida institutions?  ….US institutions?  …international institutions?
  3. Does ITS notify UNF faculty that they have refused mail from an educational institution?
  4. How does ITS propose that these institutions (some highly prestigious) communicate to the faculty that messages cannot be sent?
  5. Are accusations of abuse by educational institutions verified by ITS prior to ITS blocking the school? (Please note that the blocking is done by UNF and NOT by the subscription service)
  6. Is this not a form of censorship?

FYI:  The questioner followed up with the following information:
An update…I got a note from the ITS manager at the University of Hawaii on his follow-up of UNF blocking.  It is below.  UNF, on their part, has lifted the blocking.  However, the question still remains how often this happens and why it should happen in the first place. It was only by accident that I discovered I was not getting my messages.
