BBA- Finance Major Real Estate Track

Summary of the Changes:
The Department of Accounting and Finance is eliminating the three tracks within the finance major. Currently, students can choose one of the following tracks: Corporate, Investments, or Real Estate. The rapidly changing financial landscape, both in terms of regulatory changes and new innovations, calls for increased flexibility within the finance curriculum. The changed structure will allow finance students to tailor the courses they take to fit their career goals. Moreover, eliminating the tracks within the finance major frees up an additional elective for students to take. Instead of tracks, courses will be recommended to students seeking a specialty in each of the current tracks.

BBA- Accounting Major

Summary of the Changes:
The department of Accounting and Finance proposes the following change in its accounting major.
MAN 4550 Introduction to Management Science course would be deleted from the accounting curriculum, and in its place, ECO 3411 Economic Statistics would be required.    The addition of the statistics course gives students additional coverage of this critical topic and most of the other state schools that require a second quantitative course in their curriculum require a statistics course.
Required upper division hours for the program remain at 60, and total hours for the program remain at 120. (Click here to view the program of study)
