POLICE BEAT


1. June 15 - Criminal Mischief (Lot 9) - A student returned to her vehicle after class to find that her rear windshield had been broken. No items were stolen.

2. June 17 -Weapon possession on school property (Lot 2) - See page 1.

3. June 19 - Damaged property (Lot 44) - A car had been abandoned in the garage with a parking boot placed on the rear tire for citations. A parking employee noticed the windows of the car had busted out. The listed owner isn't a UNF student.

4. June 19 - Theft (Building V) - A student reported an iPod missing from the desk in his dorm room. The student said he saw the iPod the day before.

5. June 20 - Identity Theft (Building 41) - A student reported that she lost her driver's license June 4 while taking a final exam.

Since the loss of her license, she has become a victim to identity theft, receiving several calls from creditors regarding applications they've received. UPD investigation revealed a possible link to a subject in Indialantic, Fla. The victim's parents also live in Indialantic.

6. June 20 - Attempted burglary (Building 51) - A UNF employee left her office and returned to find pry marks on her door. After an examination of her office, no objects were missing. Later it was noticed the suspect also tried to pry the doors of two other offices in the building.

7. June 20 - Damaged property (Lot 34) - A UNF employee was operating a forklift behind UNF Arena when he struck a parking gate box to avoid an oncoming car. The car immediately fled the scene.

8. June 20 - Burglary (Building 50) - A professor was walking by the School of Engineering office when she noticed broken glass on the floor. UPD investigation revealed an unknown suspect had gained entrance into the office by breaking the plate glass window and reaching in and unlocking the door.

The suspect also forced two desk drawers open and threw the contents on the floor. It's unknown at this time what items were taken.

9. June 27 - Alcohol (Building Q) - A student was seen entering her room with an alcoholic beverage.

After a search of the room, UPD found four empty beer cans and two unopened cans.

The residents were referred to Student Conduct.

10. June 27 - Alcohol (Lot 10) - Passengers of a black Honda were seen drinking beer in the parked vehicle in plain sight. A total of 26 cans were found, poured out and the empty cans were put in the dumpster. The students admitted the alcohol was theirs.
