How to raise your buyback IQ
The Spinnaker compiled a book buyback comparison for one
student's schedule. The prices are estimates and subject to change, as is the buyback availability. The prices from half.com are the lowest selling price, but purchase of used textbooks is not
guaranteed. N/A means the store was not currently purchasing the book.

Simple sacrifices make going green easy choice
It was 1970 when Kermit the Frog first warbled the words, "It's not easy being green," and back then, he was probably right. But in 2008, not only is it easier to adopt a healthier, more environmentally friendly lifestyle, it can often be more cost-efficient.
Some environmentalists would have you believe aside from running out and buying Ford's latest hybrid model, which is the new theme for Kermit's song, there's not much you can do to lessen your carbon footprint.
But in fact, making smaller sacrifices can be just as efficient and more budget appropriate.
Enjoy a green getaway
Summer is the perfect season to travel. Fortunately, Jacksonville is well within a one-tank range of many destinations.
Places like Cumberland Island, Mount Dora and St. Augustine are all close enough to travel to on one tank of gas, but far enough to be labeled a vacation.
For those wanting to travel further away, there are many eco-friendly resorts that offer high-quality amenities with low impact on the environment. Visit www.ecohotelsandlodgecollection.com for a list of sustainable resorts located everywhere from Costa Rica to South Africa.
Become a Locavore
The 2007 New Oxford American Dictionary states a locavore is someone who shuns supermarket food in favor of locally or homegrown fruits and vegetables.
In addition to getting better quality foods - often at better prices - shopping at green markets ensures your food is fresh, in season and will have traveled a much shorter distance to land on your dinner table.
Joy Hollingsworth, the owner of furniture shop Cottage by The Sea, said she is organizing a green market at 401 S. Third Street.
"Farmers' markets are great because they bring the community together and help support local commerce," she said.
Other local farmers' markets include one downtown on West Beaver Street and at the beaches in front of Twisted Sisters.
Get into green fashion
The words "eco-friendly clothing" usually bring to mind burlap-sack dresses and recycled-rubber shoes, but many designers are turning to sustainable materials without sacrificing style.
Target will soon be getting in on the green action with an upcoming line of sustainable women's clothing, set for release in mid-May. The line will be part of their Go International collection.
Green-ify your home
There are several simple ways to cut energy costs while maintaining cool temperatures. Keeping your thermostat set at 72 degrees Fahrenheit can ensure your home stays cool and can lower energy costs.
Former Professor Al Tilley, who taught Rhetoric of Global Warming, said simple things can help the environment.
"Turn up the thermostat and open the windows in the afternoon," he said. "Avoid air travel, use bicycles and the bus when you can. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs - the old kind put out a lot of heat - and learn to sweat."
