POLICE BEAT

1. Oct. 13 - Stolen parking decal (Building 38)

2. Oct. 16 - Stalking (Building X) - A student who had not been granted admission to a fraternity sat outside of a fraternity member's room for several hours and would not leave when the occupant asked him to. The victim also received a threatening voicemail from the student.

3. Oct. 22 - Theft (Building 6)

4. Nov. 5 - Stolen parking decal (Lot 9)

5. Nov. 9 - Lost property (Building S) - A student reported his ATM debit card missing.

6. Nov. 9 - Theft (Building V) - A digital camera was reported stolen after the owner could not find it but saw photos of her roommate using the camera on Facebook.

The roommate denied taking the camera and was referred to Student Conduct.

7. Nov. 9 - Theft (Building 3)

8. Nov. 11 - Vandalism (Lot 53) - A student reported that he had parked his car in Lot 53 and went out of town. Upon his return he discovered that plants had been torn out of the surrounding landscape and placed on top of his car.

9. Nov. 11 - Lost property (Building W) - A student reported his dorm room key missing.

10. Nov.13-Theft (Building Y) - A student reported his skateboard missing after leaving it in the laundry room of Building Y.

11. Nov. 13 - Runaway (Building X) - A juvenile runaway was suspected to be hiding out in Osprey Landing. A resident assistant went to the room and discovered the juvenile was there. She was transported to the UPD office, where her mother came to pick her up.

12. Nov. 13 - Marijuana (Building S) - An anonymous caller notified UPD that a student was in possession of two small bags of marijuana. A search of the suspect's room yielded rolling papers, two small bags of marijuana and a digital scale. The suspect was read his Miranda rights and issued a notice to appear.

16. Nov. 16 - Alcohol under 21 (Building B) - A resident assistant responded to a noise complaint and observed various alcoholic beverages in a dorm room. The resident was asked to pour out nine cans of Natural Light beer, three Michelob beers, one Bud Light Beer, one Mickey beer, and one partially empty bottle of wine. All occupants of the room were referred to Student Conduct.

17. Nov. 16 - Stolen parking decal (Lot 9)

18. Nov. 17 - Alcohol under 21 (Building 43) - A Paxon High School student attending the homecoming celebration in the University Center was reported by a teacher to be intoxicated. After the suspect's father was called, he became argumentative and did not follow the officer's directions.

19. Nov. 18 - Stolen parking decal (Lot 16)

20. Nov. 19 - Marijuana (Building X) - A UNF housing maintenance employee was emptying trashcans in Building X of the Landing and discovered a Ziploc bag of what he thought was marijuana. UPD conducted a field test to confirm the substance as marijuana.

21. Nov. 19 - Theft (Building A) - A student reported leaving money on her bed in Osprey Village and returning two hours later to find that $60 was missing.

22. Nov. 20 - Accidental injury (Building Z) - The University Police Department responded to a call about a student falling from a second-story window. The victim was lying on the ground beneath a shattered window. The student had attempted to moon another student from the second-story window outside. When she placed her buttocks on the window, it shattered, causing the student to fall to the ground. The victim was transported to Shands Hospital.

23. Nov. 21 - Fire (Building Y) - A UPD officer responded to a fire in a garbage can. Jacksonville Fire Rescue was called, but the call was cancelled after a resident assistant with a fire extinguisher doused the flames.
