POLICE BEAT


1. Oct. 22 - Petty theft (Lot 10) - A student's wallet went missing. He believed the wallet was stolen from his gym bag during an intramural flag football game.

2. Nov. 5 - Lost property (Building 14) - A UNF staff member lost her custodial keys while she was cleaning. She thought the keys could have been accidentally placed in a trash bag that was sent to the trash compressor.

3. Nov. 5 - Lost property (Building 6) -A maintenance supervisor noticed two Stihl weed trimmers were missing.

Since the supervisor was not aware of when the trimmers went missing, UPD could not determine who or how they were taken.

4. Nov. 5 - Grand theft (Lot 3) - A Parking Services employee reported the theft of a parking boot placed on a black 2005 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang owed $410 in parking violations. When the employee returned to check on the vehicle, the Mustang and boot were gone. 5. Nov. 6 - Petty theft (Library) - A UNF Starbucks employee reported her purse stolen from the gym bag she had placed in the employee work area.

The employee found some of her belongings in the trash behind Starbucks. There are no suspects at this time.

6. Nov. 6 - Unattended vehicle (North-South Road) - A vehicle was found parked and unattended on the shoulder of the road.

The UPD officer issued a 24-hour removal card. The officer had the vehicle towed when it was not removed the next day.

7. Nov. 6 - Missing fire alarm panel (Building 45) - A maintenance supervisor reported a fire alarm touch pad panel missing and was not aware of when it was last seen.

The officer spoke to faculty members with offices in the surrounding areas.

A professor stated that another professor removed the panel because it was constantly being activated and disturbing the faculty and students.

8. Nov. 6 - Petty theft (Lot 3) - A stolen parking decal was found hanging in a vehicle.

Parking Services placed a parking boot on the vehicle.

UPD was called when the driver of the vehicle was seen trying to remove the boot.

9. Nov. 7 - Stolen parking decal (Lot 3)

10. Nov. 8 - Petty theft (Lot 7) - A student reported his Calculus textbook stolen from the bus stop where he had accidentally left it before boarding the shuttle.

The suspect, a student who sold a Calculus book back to the bookstore in the time frame, will be interviewed by UPD.

11. Nov. 8 -Stolen parking decal (Lot 16)

12. Nov. 9 - Burglary (Lot 12) - A student reported his CD collection and $150 Oakley sunglasses stolen from his vehicle.

He did not notice any other items missing.
