POLICE BEAT

1. Aug. 27 - Burglary (Lot 5) - Stolen parking decal.

2. Aug. 31 - Burglary (Lot 16) - Stolen parking decal.

3. Sept. 1 - Petty theft (Building Y) - A campus resident's wallet was stolen from her dorm room. There are no suspects in the case.

4. Sept. 3 - Burglary (Lot 17) - A student's parking decal was stolen from his vehicle. The student left the driver's side window down and was not sure if he locked the door. When he returned the decal was missing, but there was no other damage or theft. The case was suspended and there are no suspects.

5. Sept. 4 - Burglary (Building 44) - Stolen parking permit.

6. Sept. 4 - Grand theft (Building 39) - A student left her purse in a classroom and went to two classes. When she returned to the first classroom, she found her purse, but her wallet and camera were missing.

7. Sept. 4 - Petty theft (Building 25) - Stolen cell phone.

8. Sept. 4 - Accidental injury (Building G) - An individual slipped on some grease and dislocated an elbow.

9. Sept. 5 - Burglary (Lot 14) - Stolen parking decal.

10. Sept. 6 - Burglary (Lot 12) - Stolen parking decal.

11. Sept. 6 - Burglary (Building 44) - Stolen parking decal.

12. Sept. 7 - Alcohol under 21 (Building Y) A male resident was seen unloading a TV box full of alcohol from his car in the Landing parking lot.

When an officer followed the resident to his room he saw another resident walk across the doorway with a 12-pack of Natural Light and try to conceal it further in the room.

After searching the room, the officer found other alcohol, including three 12-packs of Natural Light beer, five cans of Bud Light, and a 2-liter bottle of Vodka hidden in the room under a bed and behind a desk.

The officer recommended all five students in the room be referred to Student Conduct because they were uncooperative during the incident.

13. Sept. 7 - Stolen parking permit (Lot 15)

14. Sept. 7 - Possession of drug paraphernalia (Lot 100) - A University Police Department officer approached two students in a parked car at approximately 3 a.m.

The officer could smell marijuana and asked if they had been smoking. The students produced a zip lock bag of marijuana and a search of the car revealed more marijuana and a glass pipe.

The students were issued a Notice to Appear and referred to Student Conduct.

15. Sept. 7 - Burglary (Lot 15) - Stolen parking decal.

16. Sept. 7 - Mental illness (Lot 7) - An individual contacted UPD and stated he wanted to kill himself. Officers learned he had taken sleeping and Triaminic pills, and planned to drink antifreeze coolant. The individual was transported to St. Luke's Medical Center.

17. Sept. 8 - Alcohol under 21 (Lot 10) A group of students walking towards the Landing were stopped by a UPD officer when he noticed a student carrying a can of Natural Light. The student attempted to hide the beer can behind his leg and walk away but was stopped by the officer and ordered to pour out the beer. The student was issued a notice to appear for Student Conduct.

18. Sept 9 - Attempted armed robbery (Lot 16).

19. Sept. 9 - Damaged vending machine (Building 43).
