Sept. 28 - Voyeurism
A UPD officer was dispatched to the library in regards to a reported voyeurism incident in the second floor men's bathroom. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the complainant. The victim said that he had been in the bathroom when he noticed a black male looking at him through holes in the toilet stall wall. The victim also said that when he had first entered the bathroom, the suspect had been peering at him over the stall wall. When the officer asked the complainant whether or not he had definitely seen the suspect looking through the holes of the stall wall, he said he could only see was the shadow of the suspect's head inching closer to the wall. The victim also mentioned that he could see quick continuous motions in the shadows. During their conversation, the victim pointed out the suspect as he was leaving the library to the officer. When confronted about the occurrence, the suspect stated that it was stupid and that he had done no such thing. The suspect went on to say that the complainant levying the accusations was stupid. Due to the lack of evidence, it was impossible to determine whether the suspect had actually committed an offense. The victim was advised that he should contact UPD immediately if similar instances occur.

Sept. 29 - Simple Battery
Three UPD officers were dispatched to Building W of the Landing in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with an RA who advised the officers that she had observed two males on the third floor of Building W arguing very loudly. When asked to lower their voices, they complied and moved to the courtyard smoking area to continue their discussion. The two male suspects were found to be the boyfriend and brother of a resident of Building W. The couple was having relationship problems, and the girl's brother tried to mediate the situation. As the two males were not residents, they were escorted off campus by one of the other officers. Later that evening, when on patrol of parking lot 10, the RA who previously informed the officers of the situation earlier advised them that the two males had returned. After making contact with them a second time, the officers separated the pair and escorted them back to the parking lot. It was at this point that the female subject the two males had been arguing over arrived. She advised the officers that she had struck her boyfriend accidentally while "playing around" and he became verbally aggressive, causing her to become concerned for her well being. After his outburst, she decided to end her relationship with the male subject. When he wouldn't leave, the female's brother intervened on her behalf. The two males were issued trespass warnings. The female resident was referred to student conduct and housing.

Oct. 1 - Burglary
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building R of the Crossings in reference to a reported theft. Upon arrival, the officer met with the three residents that called. According to complainants, an Apple Computer, a pair of Sony headphones and $120 had been stolen from the premises. One of the room's occupants stated that he had locked the door when he left and had not let anyone into his room within the span of time his property had been stolen. The officer did not see any signs of forced entry. After further examination of the room, one of the roommates mentioned he could not locate his TI-84 graphing calculator. Upon further investigation, the officer found a Playstation 2, Gamecube, multiple video games and a digital camera that had not been disturbed. The officer tried to obtain possible latent fingerprint evidence from the area but ended up with negative results. A key audit was conducted on the room and the results are forthcoming.

Oct. 2 - Assault
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building X of the Landing in reference to a report of an assault. The officer made contact with two residents, one of which stated that her roommate had thrown a box cutter. The other resident was also a roommate of the complainant and stated she had witnessed the incident. During an interview, the victim advised that she had received a phone message from her other roommate stating that she thought she had broken her hand. Upon arrival, the complainant found the suspect crying. The suspect stated that she had become upset and punched the steel exit door to the room. She was apparently upset because her roommates had left notes for her to wash her dishes. The suspect reportedly threw a box cutter that struck the wall approximately three feet from the complainant. The victim was not sure whether the box cutter had been thrown at her purposely or it had been thrown randomly in a fit of rage. The officer determined that no criminal act had occurred, as it could not be determined whether the box cutter had been deliberately thrown at the victim. The incident was documented and forwarded to Housing.

Oct. 1 - Stalking
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building R of the Crossings in reference to a threatening note. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with an RA who was visibly upset and crying. The RA handed the officer a post-it-note that had been affixed to her door. The note contained offensive language towards the RA and a death threat. A second note was found that called the victim a "pund". According to the RA, "pund" is a quote from the movie Napoleon Dynamite and it means someone who takes his or her job too seriously. The RA was under the impression that the person who wrote the offensive messages was a resident she had documented earlier in the semester. The suspect had placed plastic cups with water in front of the RA's door as practical joke. After asking the suspect why he played a practical joke on her, the suspect stated the RA had a reputation for being stricter than the other RAs in the Crossings. The notes were taken into custody as evidence. The officer attempted to make contact with the suspect but he was away on a fraternity camping trip, according to his roommate. The officer will interview the suspect when he returns.
