Sept. 12 - Petty Theft
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building 14 in reference to food theft. The officer made contact with an employee, who stated he saw an unknown male leaving the premises with multiple to-go boxes. When the employee asked the suspect to pay for his food, the suspect ignored him. After following the suspect, the employee overheard the suspect speaking to an individual who addressed him as Andre.

The employee then stated he saw the suspect enter Building 14 and speak to an unidentified female. After identifying the female, the officer questioned her about the suspect.

According to the female, she knew the suspect as 'Dre but refused to cooperate further as she was a senator in Student Government and did no want to get involved. An additional canvas of the area provided no new information or suspects.

Sept. 12 - Vandalism
A UPD officer met with an individual who stated his vehicle had been vandalized. After inspecting the vehicle, the officer found that the rear driver's side window had been shattered. Upon further inspection, the officer found that nothing had been stolen from the car, as a variety of compact disks and a wristwatch were undisturbed.

After canvassing the area where the car had been parked, the officer found no weapons that may have been used to break the windshield. No other vehicles in the surrounding area were damaged. When asked whether he had any enemies or threats to his property, the complainant said he did not. The case has been suspended due to lack of witnesses.

Sept. 13 - Sick Person
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building G in reference to a report of a sick individual. The officer met with a woman who stated she had been sick all weekend and had recently started feeling short of breath and lethargic.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and evaluated the complainant. It was determined that she was suffering from a severe head and chest cold. She was advised to take over-the-counter medicine and to report to Student Health if the symptoms persisted.

Sept. 16 - Assault
A UPD officer was dispatched to Building V in reference to an argument between roommates. According to the complainant, his roommate had verbally assaulted him for a number of issues including; snoring, showering for too long and the bathroom being dirty.

The complainant suggested they attend peer mediation to work out their issues, but the suspect declined. After the complainant cleaned the room in attempt to keep the peace, the suspect threatened to beat up the complainant. When the complainant stated he would call the police if he threatened again, the suspect stated, "You won't be able to get up and get the phone when I get done with you."

The case was forwarded to Student Conduct and Housing.

Sept. 16 - Fireworks
A UPD officer was dispatched to the Osprey Landing in reference to a report of fireworks. Upon meeting the complainant, the officer was advised that she had heard fireworks going off in front of her apartment.

When she opened the door, the complainant stated she saw several empty fireworks containers in front of her door. She made contact with several males that were standing in the courtyard area but they stated they did not hear or see anything. After searching the area, the officer found the empty containers but he couldn't find any more information or witnesses. The complainant requested the case be documented in case it happens again.
