Women's professional conference comes to UNF
The University of North Florida Women's Center and the office of continuing education will present "Women Moving at the Speed of Dreams."
The two-day conference will offer events from noon to 6 p.m. March 4 and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 5 at the University Center.
The conference will feature many nationally acclaimed speakers, with a keynote from Dr. Berrin Beasley of the communication and visual arts department.

Expert to lecture on archaeology
Dr. Charles Ewen, director of excavations for East Carolina University, will lecture on "The Archaeology of Desoto's Winter Encampment: A Review" from 7 to 9 p.m. March 4 in Building 39, room 1009.

Philosophy and physics professor to lecture
Dr. Marcelo Gleiser, the Appleton Professor of Natural Philosophy and professor of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College, will speak as part of the Distinguished Voices Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m. March 4 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The philosophy department will present the Eighth Annual Northeast Florida Student Philosophy Conference March 5-6. Events begin at 7:30 p.m. March 5 in Building 39, room 1009, with the lecture "Evolutionism and Creationism: Different Solutions to the Same Problem?" by Michael Ruse, professor of philosophy at Florida State University.
Events will continue at 4 p.m. March 6 with a lecture by Marcia Eaton, professor of philosophy at the University of Minnesota, titled "Good Fictions' Good Stories." Commercial auditions coming to campus
Krystal fast-food restaurants will be auditioning for a television commercial from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4 on the Green. Students interested will have the opportunity to audition for a Krystal commercial that will air on national television.
The audition is open to all UNF students. Students under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian present to sign a release form.
Lecture scheduled on life of French novelist
Dr. Kathleen Brunner will present "A Tribute to George Sand on the Bicentennial of Her Birth" from 7 to 9 p.m. March 9 in the RSC (Bldg. 14), room 1601. Brunner will lecture on the life of Sand, a 19th-century French novelist. The event, sponsored by the department of world languages and the Alliance Française of Jacksonville, is free and open to the public.
