Contact Joseph Quinlan, Co-Volunteer coordinator if you are interested: The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memory Walk will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Avenues Mall in Jacksonville. Nearly 600 people across Jacksonville are expected to participate in this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Memory Walk promises to be a family-friendly environment with food, fun and entertainment. Individuals interested in forming a team, contact the Alzheimer’s Association at http://mwjacksonville.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=239587 or 904.398.5193. Worldwide Day of Play volunteers needed!Lorie Strange is asking for Nutrition/Dietitian Specialist or educators to volunteer a couple of hours to raise awareness of Childhood Obesity. Student volunteers are welcome. It is Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon until 3 p.m. at four parks in Jacksonville. They expect approximately 400 children at each park. To be most effective, I hope to have at least two nutrition educators at each park to answer questions for families. Your children and family are certainly welcome, too. The flyer/brochure is attached. Contact: Lorie Strange, Communications Director with questions.
