Laurel W. Kendall, M.Ed. – lkendall@unf.edu
  • Laurel Kendall hails from Queens, New York. She is happily married and the mother of three children. Laurel received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education/Behavioral Sciences from Pace University in New York and was awarded a Master of Education in Counselor Education in May of 2004, right here at the University of North Florida. Her husband received an undergraduate degree from Bethune Cookman College and a graduate degree from Florida A&M. Her children though have kept the tradition alive in that both of her daughters along with her son and son-in-law are all UNF alumnus and are swooping their way to success.
  • Laurel has served UNF Student Affairs for more than ten years in positions within Career Services, University Housing, Student Life, and most recently in Student Government. Besides serving on many University wide committees, Laurel is a State of Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, an American Psychotherapy Association Board Certified Professional Counselor, a Florida Notary Public, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society and Professional Association in Education, NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, ASGA–the American Student Government Association, and ASCA–the Association for Student Conduct Administration.
  • Her interests include music, sports, and bringing hope and laughter to the world.

Administrative Staff

Coordinator
Monet Wheatley-Phillip – m.wheatley-phillip@unf.edu

Monet M. Wheatley Phillip earned a B.S. degree in 1990 from Cheyney University. She majored in Business Administration. She and her husband have been married for nine years. They have one child, a bright, energetic pre-schooler. Until the sixth month of her pregnancy, she worked as a Paralegal. While working as a stay-at-home mom, Mrs. Phillip wrote the pregnancy guide book, Fifteen Steps to the Best Childbirth Experience of Your Life. She is a member of the Florida Writers Association and has been featured in the Five Questions Column of the October 9th, 2007 Issue of Folio Weekly. She joined the Student Government staff in the fall of 2007 and is currently pursuing a M.A. degree in English from UNF.

Business & Accounting

The Student Government Business and Accounting Office facilitates the management of the annual Activity & Service Fee Budget. The office processes expenditures as requested by the three branches of Student Government, clubs and student organizations, and various university departments that receive funding from Student Government.

It is a primary mission of the office to assure that all applicable federal and state laws are complied with as well as regulations, policies, and procedures of the University of North Florida. The Activity & Service Fee Budget is managed in compliance with the Student Government Finance Code (Title VIII of the SG Statutes).

Business Manager
Randall Robinson – randall.robinson@unf.edu

Randall Robinson graduated from the University of North Florida in 2005 with a degree in Finance. As a student Randall was highly involved in campus life. During his four years in Student Government he served as the Budget & Allocations Chairperson, and the inaugural Student Government Treasurer. Randall was also a brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Collegiate Weightlifting National Medalist.

After spending three years in the private sector as an accountant and financial analyst. Randall brings his business professional background, and campus life experiences back to UNF where he advises Club Alliance, Osprey Productions, Homecoming, and Student Government.

Accountants
Amanda Anderson – amanda.anderson@unf.edu

Amanda is from Crawfordville, Florida and joined the staff of the Business and Accounting Office in spring 2008. She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management and enjoys the beach and spending time with her husband. Amanda has accounting responsibilities for the Student Union, Osprey Productions, and Homecoming.

Donna Sweeny – d.sweeny@unf.edu

Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Donna has lived in Jacksonville for 15 years. She and her husband, Russell, have been married for 29 years and have one daughter. Donna has worked at UNF since spring 2007 and worked in the ADA Compliance office before joining the SG Business and Accounting staff. She holds an A.A. degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing her B.A. in Business Management from UNF. In her free time, Donna enjoys reading and watching sports as well as playing her French horn and spending time at the beach. As an SG Accountant, Donna is responsible for the AASU, SG Senate, SG Judicial, and Student Conference Travel accounts.

Barbara Wilson – b.wilson.83399@unf.edu

A native of Jacksonville, Barbara has experienced and witnessed much growth in the area. She started her tenure at UNF in 2002 as the Office Manager for Student Health Services. As an SG Accountant, Barbara enjoys the interaction with students and other staff members and using her organizational skills. She is primarily responsible for the Center for Student Media, SG Executive, and SG Business and Accounting Office accounts. Barbara enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management.

Judy Vaesa – jvaesa@unf.edu

Judy grew up in Northern California and lived in Washington DC before moving to Jacksonville 27 years ago. She has worked in various departments at UNF for 24 years. As an SG Accountant, Judy manages accounts for the LGBT Resource Center, the Volunteer Center, and Club Alliance. Judy works closely with Club Alliance and processes purchases for the more than 160 clubs at UNF.
