Frequently Asked Questions

How is Student Government funded?
Student Government, as well as the majority of student clubs and organizations and various services around campus, is funded through Activity and Service fees which are allocated annually.
What are Activity and Services fees and how do they affect me?
Activity & Service Fees essentially serve to provide funding for student services and resources and also events throughout the year. As students both contribute to and recieve the benefits of these fees, it is in the best interest of the student to be aware of them as well.
A&S fees are authorized under Florida Statute 1009.24. Fees are collected by the University of North Florida as a component of tuition in the amount recommended annually by the A&S Fee Committee and approved by the UNF Board of Trustees. Florida Statute 1009.24 can be found here
How do I go about requesting funds for travel or for my club?
See the SG Treasurer or Budget and Allocations Committee Chairman for further information. Both are located in the Student Government office, or can be reached by email.
Where is Student Government located?
Our new offices are located on the 3rd floor in the East building of the Student Union. Bldg. 58 East, Room 3300.
Is my club eligible for additional SG funding?
Clubs must be on good standing with Club Alliance for an entire year to be eligible for a special request or travel funding.
