Summer 2007 Sailing
Schedule
The
first Friday of every month:
As
outlined on the "Membership" tab, the first Friday of
every month will be open for new members to come out, check out
the program, and join. We will need all of our regular skippers
on these days so that we will have enough people teach rigging,
do swim checks, rotations, ect.
2nd
Friday:
On
the seond friday of each month, we will be teaching a new skill.
This could be anything from boat handling, to knot tying, to racing,
and will be headed up by our programming director. Afterwords
we'll get everyone on the water and set some marks for those that
want to race.
3rd
Friday:
The
third week will be free sail. Everyone will come out, grab any
boat they are qualified to use, and enjoy a relaxing day of sailing
4th
Friday:
The
last week we will have a social event. Possibilities include sailing
to the Jacksonville landing for dinner, BBQ on the riverfront
at JU, weekend trips, or anything else you can come up with and
suggest to us. If nothing pans out for a particular week, we'll
just have another day of free sailing. Skippers and regular
members who attended the first and second Fridays of that month
will get priority if there is limited space for a social event.
Weekend / Social
Events
We
will be having as many weekend social events / trips / sailing
on the big boats as we can, especially as the weather gets nicer,
and all of those will be anounced by email. If you have any ideas,
please let us know - we need suggestions!
