NETWORK WITH LOCAL BUILDERS AND SUPPLIERS

Each chapter is sponsored by a local or state home builder association (HBA).  As the chapter's sponsor, the association serves as an invaluable information source for the chapter and may provide speakers, internships, summer job opportunities, scholarships or community projects.

HOME BUILDING IS MORE THAN HAMMERING NAILS

The home building industry needs men and women to design houses, manage the workers and the construction projects, market and sell homes, manage the financial operations, and more.

The building industry is the largest in the United States.  Home building alone is a multi-billion dollar industry.  More than 1.5 million homes are built annually.  The industry's activities include:   building new homes, additions, alterations, repairs, and product manufacturing.  There are thousands of management and professional occupations in the industry.  Almost 350,000 people will be hired every year to fill new jobs and replace workers leaving the industry.
