What kind of Graduate School does UNF have?
Graduate education at UNF is characterized by the following:
Individualized instruction: The vast majority of programs have small class sizes and a strong professor-to-student ratio.
Low cost: Florida has one of the lowest in-state tuition rates in the nation.
Full accreditation: Every master's and doctoral program we offer is regionally accredited, and every program that is eligible for "discipline-specific" accreditation either has it, or if it is a new program, will have it soon.
Highly credentialed faculty: Every member of the UNF Graduate Faculty has an earned doctorate (or other appropriate terminal degree)—some from the most prestigious universities in the world—and each is an active scholar, bringing students into research in the most up-to-date work being done.
Regional and career focus: The vast majority of our programs are focused on preparing students for high quality jobs in the northeast Florida region.
Urban environment: UNF is situated in a growing metropolitan area; many of our programs are informed by this focus.
Natural environment: The UNF campus is over 1200 acres, with a large portion of that acreage set aside as a natural preserve in which may be found miles of the Robert W. Loftin nature trail system. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of "greenway," with the Atlantic Ocean to our east, huge estuarine areas to our north, and a National Heritage River—the St. Johns—running through the heart of the city.
