Editorial Services for Dissertations and Theses
The Graduate School requires that all dissertations and theses be submitted in final formats, ready for library submission and publication. In addition, they must be prepared according to the formatting requirements of the department and college from which they originate. A list of the requirements, by college and department, is below.
Part of what is required for final submission of dissertations and theses is that such documents be free from any errors related to language use: grammar, spelling, and usage errors must be absent, and clarity must be uniform throughout the document.
To aid in meeting this requirement, the Graduate School recommends that a student employ an editor. The Graduate School does not require employing an editor, nor do we require hiring a particular editor. However, if a student is looking for a recommendation, we recommend the following:
Amy Mitchell Ms. Mitchell helps to ensure that documents are clear, uniform and free of errors. She offers assurance that documents meet the style and formatting requirements of the department to which they are submitted; assistance with charts, tables, and graphics; and assistance with preparation for library submission and publication. Her services are available at an hourly rate of $25*; UNF students receive a 10% discount off this amount. (*Rates may vary depending on the nature of the work, the time frame of the assignment, the degree of special expertise required, and other factors.) |
Shannon McLeish Ms. McLeish provides a final clean copy of a fully edited manuscript, inclusive of the required departmental/college formatting and UNF library formatting, for $5.50 - $8 per page. Ms. McLeish offers UNF graduate students a discount of 10% off this amount. |
Colleen Flannery Ms. Flannery offers an array of editing services, depending on client needs. Her services are available at an hourly rate of $25; UNF graduate students will receive a 10% discount off this amount. Jeremy Hoyt
