Organization Facts

Ninety-three years ago, 22 women had a vision of creating an organization that was strictly devoted to community service, academic achievement, and social action. Out of this vision Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was born. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. has a membership of over 250,000 college educated women who fully support the foundation of the sorority's existence. Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. follow its Five Point Thrust to better serve communities. The Thrust contains economic awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement. The Thrust identifies issues that affect communities and offer ways to assist in helping solve these issues.

Chapter Facts

The "Sophisticated" Sigma Alpha Chapter at UNF was founded on November 21, 1993 by eighteen ladies of a divine beginning. The ladies of the Sigma Alpha Chapter continue to follow in the footsteps of their founders, involving in programs such as Paint the Town, feeding the homeless with the Clara White Mission, and many forums that touch on the issues that rank from study tips to safe sex. Delta Sigma Theta will forever dedicate its time to helping others, shaping the present, and work towards the future through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
