Richard Pearis, Loyalist Refugee

Richard Pearis, a Loyalist refugee, received permission from Stephen Egan, agent for Lady Egmont, to settle for ten years on five hundred vacant acres on the Cecilton tract. Pearis built a house and several farm buildings, cleared and fenced forty acres, and planted provisions until migrating to Great Abaco Island in 1784.
