Earl of Moira

Adjoining the Lower Store, to the west and south along the St. Johns River , was a 20,000-acre tract granted to the Earl of Moira . This property was located by Charles Bernard, an agent who came out from London and badly mismanaged startup operations at several tracts owned by absentee grantees. There is no record of cultivation at this estate at least until the 1780s.
