Birdhouse Factory/Cirque Mechanics
Journey to an imaginary factory where every machine is used for one amazing feat after another! The workers at the H. Rosebud Factory are connected by their roles on the assembly line until a hapless bird flies into one of their machines, creating mayhem and forever altering their lives and the factory’s future. Early 20th century machines come together with circus acrobatics, aerial feats and comedic characters to tell a story of laughter, love, flight, loss and our interconnectedness.
Inspired in part by Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals, the outrageous illustrations of Rube Goldberg and by Charlie Chaplin’s film Modern Times, this high-flying spectacle is a mix of mechanics and circus arts with music, light and choreography that will enchant and mesmerize.
