2010-2011 Season
Cheryl Wheeler
Presented by The Challen Cultural Series
Known primarily as a New England folk singer/songwriter, Cheryl Wheeler is a critically acclaimed artist who possesses a voice that can be haunting, filling her ballads with a sense of yearning, regret and everlasting hope. Yet, that same voice can be playful and whimsical as she sings and tells humorous tales that are self-contained sitcoms. Part songstress, part comedian, Wheeler is a unique performer who has been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years, recorded more than 10 studio albums, and simply must be experienced live. Her songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Dan Seals, Peter Paul and Mary, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks, Suzy Boggus, Melanie, Bette Midler, Maura O'Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea, and Holly Near.
