Academic Merit Scholarships
Scholarship Consideration Deadline:
NOVEMBER 13, 2009

The University of North Florida believes that your hard work should pay off. We offer a wide range of merit based scholarships for qualifying students. Many of these scholarships are limited in number so it is important that you apply early.


Automatic UNF Merit Based Scholarships
For First-Time-In-College Students
No Essay Required
Awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying students
 
UNF Academic
Scholarship
$20,000
($5,000/year
x 4 years)

Requirements:

  • Guaranteed to all National Merit Finalists, National Achievement Finalists, or National Hispanic Scholars
  • Student must send a copy of Finalist letter to the Scholarship Coordinator for consideration
  • Scholarship recipients will receive priority class registration throughout the duration of the scholarship and automatic consideration for the Honors Program
UNF Presidential
Scholarship
$10,000
($2,500/year
x 4 years)

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3.75 recalculated GPA
  • Minimum 1240 SAT or 28 ACT (excluding writing sections)
  • Scholarship recipients will receive automatic consideration for the Honors Program
 


Students can apply for one of our Competitive Merit based scholarships listed below.

To apply for these scholarships, students must submit a scholarship essay and have a completed admissions application on file by November 13, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Students will be considered for all scholarships thus only one essay per applicant will be accepted.

Essays may only be submitted via our online submission form and should be limited to no more than 1,000 words. Below are the approved scholarships essay topics.

  1. If we could only admit one more student to UNF, why should it be you?

  2. Utilizing the influences family history, culture, and environment have had on you, what impact will you make on the UNF community?
