This year, Ms. Ashton has contributed to two major UNF initiatives. Putting the catalog online saves the University money and enables the information to be edited several months later than when printed. Under the direction of Ms. Ashton, the University is migrating to a new content management system that will allow departments an easier way to keep their web sites updated. Ms. Ashton puts her heart and soul into working at the University. She is dedicated and committed. She works when needed, whether it is running a night lecture, assisting with a Foundation event or ensuring proper communication no matter the time or day during an emergency. |
Morgan Barnett |

Along with her primary duties as an advisor in the largest college at UNF, Ms. Barnett has used her intelligence and ingenuity to develop solutions using Banner that have benefited all Academic Advising units along with the students they assist. She builds and maintains Undergraduate and Graduate Programs of study, trains others on the use of banner, and develops new policies that help streamline Banner processes. She assists the Women Center of Jacksonville by conducting research and is a victim advocate for UNF’s Women’s Center. |

Through Ms. Bell's many years of solid leadership and hard work, the Child Development Research Center has gone for "good to great". Along with managing the day to day operations of the Center, Ms. Bell has been an organizer of the Family Festival since 2006 and chairperson of the Duval Early Learning Directors network since 2007. She has held the faculty advisor position for the March of Dimes Collegiate Council, mentored students, and has been involved in several research projects. |

Mr. Bond successfully blends excellent technical skills, a strong work ethic, and outstanding leadership ability. He pursues professional development to remain abreast of new technologies and volunteers at church. |

Mr. Burke makes a daily impact on people at UNF. He oversees, and often directly attends to, the audio-visual technology on campus. Every time a student learns something new that was digitally displayed in class, or a professor utilizes audio-visually technology to enhance their teaching they can thank Decato Burke. Mr. Burke serves on the Sick Leave Pool Committee and was selected a the Mentor of the Year for the Faculty/Student Mentor Program. In addition to recently earning a second bachelor’s degree in political science, he has completed several professional development activities and devotes some of his spare time to helping the elderly through volunteer efforts from his church. |

Ms. Carter walks the talk about “No one like you; no place like this.” She represents UNF in the best possible light to all who come in contact with her. She makes customer service and creative problem solving for students and staff her highest priority. In addition to her regular duties in One Stop Student Services, Ms. Carter was a member of the third-year class of LeadershipUNF, was invited to serve as a judge for the Greek Awards, and currently serves on the UNF Veterans Affairs Task Force. She was previously a co-leader for her Enrollment Services BEST Team and has pursued several professional development activities. She helps others in the community through the Riverside Relay for Life and Locks of Love. |

Ms. Dalton works many extra hours and weekends to organize the many and various campus events that UNF offers to prospective students. In addition to organizing very important events such as the University's Orientation programs, Minority Recognition Ceremony and Open Houses, Ms. Dalton supervises her Campus Events staff which includes the Orientation Team Leaders. Ms. Dalton’s activities outside the scope of her job description include acting as the Chapter Advisor for the Delta Upsilon Fraternity for the past three years, Week of Welcome Coordinator from 2004 to 2007, and recently obtained her master’s degree. |

Ms. Diamon is a positive and creative person that is always looking for new ways to connect with UNF Alums and to grow UNF spirit. She is energetic and works many long hours to get her job done and represent UNF effectively in her role with Alumni Services. Ms. Diamon actively serves on Spirit Advisory Board and Young Alumni Community committees, and pursues professional development opportunities as they become available. She recently completed a master’s degree in educational leadership. She volunteers with numerous organizations and agencies in the area. |

Ms. Dickerson spends time outside her normal schedule working with the Jacksonville Commitment through the College Reach Out Project with at-risk children. Additionally, she works with the Sunshine State Scholars Program that recognizes high school students that excel in math and science. She was appointed by Sheriff John Rutherford to chair the Education Gang Reduction Task Force for Duval, Nassau, and Baker Counties. This responsibility includes meeting with other members of the Region Three Gang Reduction Task Force appointed by Florida's Attorney General, Bill McCollum. Ms. Dickerson is also a liaison for the Safe and Drug Free Schools Project. |

In his role as Director of IT Security, Mr. Durfee routinely seeks innovative ways to protect the University’s information assets from improper disclosure and compromise. He seeks to do this in a way that has a minimal level of impact on students, faculty, and staff members' ability to use IT resources. He has a tremendous capacity not only to take on new responsibilities but to complete them successfully and in a timely manner. Mr. Durfee has represented the A&P Association on the Parking Advisory Council since 2006, volunteers his time to Take Stock in Children, serves as a reserve police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, and is a board member at Hendricks Day School. |
Anne Sheridan Fugard |

Ms. Fugard is actively involved in the campus community on two primary fronts: 1) student quality of life and 2) student safety. She is an outstanding mentor for young people, helping them develop decision making and leadership skills. As a member of the AARRC (Activities Abroad Risk Review Committee), she helps develop policies for UNF study abroad and reviews every study abroad program to make sure that faculty leaders are well prepared to give students not only an educational trip, but a safe trip. Ms. Fugard’s number one professional development activity during the past year has been to complete her dissertation for her Ed.D in Educational Leadership at UNF. |

Mr. Gabertan is concerned with making sure that all employees receive a paycheck each payday (and that the paycheck is correct), and will stay well beyond the normal operating hours to accomplish this task. Miguel is professional, knowledgeable, caring and has the interest of UNF in whatever tasks he undertakes. Miguel represents the attitude and work ethics that should be a part of every UNF employee. Mr. Gabertan remains well informed professionally. He has attended numerous trainings and conferences related to IRS documents and processes. He also remains current with technical training. |

Mr. Giles’ recent accomplishments include the development of Learn Jacksonville, a community interest based training program, offering over 50 courses per semester serving over 1000 people. He has expanded the professional development programs and now is also offering the Certified Financial Planner program. He has taken the Executive Leadership program and has turned it into a reality. He is active in ASTD, SHRM and the Chamber of Commerce. He is also active in LERN and is working toward earning his CPM (Certified Program Manger) designation from LERN. |

Mr. Holmes exhibits a level of personal motivation and interest in improving enterprise operations that has directly improved computing facilities for faculty, staff and students. Mr. Holmes excels both technically and interpersonally, a combination not found very often. Mr. Holmes plays a important role in the annual BotBall high school robotics competition held each spring at UNF. In addition to these outreach functions, he serves on the technical implementation team for the Symantec Altiris pilot integration and recently attended conferences related to that project. |

Mr. Hufford has been both a pioneer and leader in the development of application programs that significantly enhance the experience of UNF's student community. He developed the UNF's first Web interfaces for student services including registration. “On-line and not in-line” became a reality at UNF long before it did at many other institutions. He has improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the Banner system for students, faculty, and staff by developing programs to replace functions that were missing in the original installation. All of this has been accomplished at a pace that few could rival, and with extra hours worked that set a standard for community service to the institution. |

She works with the Coggin Alumni Chapter, Business Advisory Council and employers to identify strategic areas for growth and development. She is active in the community and her relationships with local industry leaders have paved the way for many students after they leave the University. She has attended numerous training opportunities recently and volunteers with HabiJax, the Willow Creek Leadership Summit, and through her church. |

In working with international students, Ms. Lopez often finds herself needing to pick up students from the airport at odd hours and even has gone as far as offering the new students a place to stay in the days leading up to the start of the new semester. She prides herself in being accessible to students and their parents living abroad. She has overseen the development of an active International Student Association on campus. She has attended numerous professional development activities recently and volunteers her time with the Jacksonville Sister City – Masan and Nantes Group. |

Ms. Mejia contributes to UNF through her tireless duty as a full-time coordinator for the Photo-Electric Chemical and Microbial Sensor research project in the Physics Department. Her knowledge is used at conferences around the world to network with other institutions, which in turn brings positive light to UNF. Ms. Mejia is an active member of several societies related to her academic field, notably the Society of Physics Students, Sigma Xi, and the American Chemical Society. She has pursued several professional development opportunities and recently presented at a meeting of the Southeast Chapter of the American Society for Microbiology. She volunteers with the First Coast No More Homeless Pets association. |

As UNF faced a year of additional "Budget Reductions", Mr. Roberts reorganized the Department of Career Services to enable the return of an administrative position to Student and International Affairs, lessening their budget cuts. He engaged in discussion and activity to develop the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Report that was submitted for SACS reaccreditation. Through Mr. Roberts's partnership with Academic Affairs as co-author, the QEP has been accepted as a UNF priority. Mr. Roberts’ leadership has been instrumental in numerous university committees and councils. |

One of Mr. Seane’s greatest strength is his ability to create opportunities for our University and the external community in the areas of international exchange and interpersonal understanding. Equally as important is what he refers to as his passion, which is assisting minority students to realize the broad array of opportunities available to them. Whether working with minority student groups on campus, offering diversity training to our University community, or collaborating with various employee ethnic groups to offer observances that provide insight into other cultures, Mr. Seane is a bridge-builder. He regularly encourages relationships between the community and our University, always seeking opportunities to promote UNF. |

As a presenter, she has few equals. She has a gift for organizing and delivering information. As Chair of the Rewards and Recognition Committee for the past year, she provided leadership and direction to a fairly new committee. She was instrumental in program redesign, development and implementation of new ideas. Vivian is always thinking about how to streamline the committee process due to feedback from the University community. |

Mr. Turner works closely with Athletics, the Academic Potential Program, the Jacksonville Commitment Program, the Pathways Scholarship students and our students on probation. These programs all work with high-risk students and have multiple stake holders throughout the university and the Jacksonville community. Mr. Turner has served as an officer in the Academic Advising Council for the past year. He volunteers his time, energy and effort to serve as the Assessment Coordinator and has been responsible for campus wide academic advising assessment activities. He pursues professional development opportunities in order to remain knowledgeable about student issues, and volunteers his time and efforts to the Cub Scouts, the Spina Bifida Association of Jacksonville, and to the St. Johns River Clean-Up. |
