Excellence Awards Nominations Deadline is December 5

The Recognition and Rewards Committee invites nominations for the Excellence Awards Program.  The Excellence Awards Program, a president’s initiative, provides the University and employees the opportunity to recognize administrative, support, out-of-unit faculty and OPS personnel for their contributions in fulfilling the University’s commitment to excellence, focus, relevance and accountability.  Submit and/or encourage nominations for any of the four awards categories, each holding a monetary value ranging from $100 to $2,000.

Nomination forms and an overview of the four award categories are available at http://www.unf.edu/unfinfo/awards . Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. The Excellence Awards Program is coordinated by the Recognition and Rewards Committee and administered by the Office of Human Resources.  For more information, contact Vivian Senior, chair of the Recognition and Rewards Committee, at awardcom@unf.edu or ext. 2955.

Give an International Student the Thanksgiving Experience!

The International Center would like to provide UNF International Students with the opportunity to enjoy a quintessential American tradition – “Thanksgiving Dinner!” If you are a UNF faculty or staff member and are interested in hosting two or three international students for Thanksgiving Day, please notify Bonnie Richardson in the International Center (x2657) by the end of Monday, November 24. All hosts will be asked to provide student-guests with transportation (both pick-up and drop-off).

A&P Association Holiday Celebration will be December 11

The A&P Association will hold their Holiday Celebration on Thursday, December 11 from 3:30 to 5 pm in the Robinson Student Life Center, Rooms 1602-03. There will be delicious food and festive holiday cheer.  The Holiday Celebration is our best attended social event, so be sure to drop by and wish your colleagues a merry holiday season.  Please RSVP at http://survey.unf.edu/survey/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D239035B4F

In the spirit of holiday giving, we are collecting toys for the Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Please bring a new unwrapped toy or game to our social on December 11. Your donation will make it possible for children staying at Wolfson Children’s Hospital to choose a gift after a medical procedure. The toys will also be used in the playrooms to comfort and entertain the children during their hospital stay. Visit http://www.wolfsonchildrens.org/programs-services/family-patient-support/child-life/docs/childlife_wishlist.pdf for information on the types of gifts to buy. If you are unable to attend the social, you can drop off the toy at my office (UNF Hall, Suite 245).

Crisis Management Training Survey

From the Crisis management Team: Over the past few months, all divisions scheduled Crisis Management training sessions for their faculty and staff.  This training, endorsed by President Delaney, was intended to educate our campus community on how best to manage emergency situations.  Many of you have now attended a session and the Crisis Management Team would benefit greatly from your feedback.  This will help the Team plan for future programming for our UNF employees.

If you have attended a Crisis Management Training session, please take a few minutes to complete the feedback form available at the following link: https://websurveyor.unf.edu/wsb.dll/28/CMTevaluation.htm  Thank you for your participation in this training campaign and for completing this survey.
