Requirements for Transfer Students
ExclamationPoint Click here for important information regarding deadline changes.

Due to unprecedented demand for enrollment and a simultaneous budget reduction from the State, the University of North Florida’s upper-level transfer student admission policy has recently changed.

Effective for the fall 2008 semester and until further notice, students wishing to transfer to UNF as an upper-level transfer student must be eligible through an articulation agreement between the University of North Florida and the student’s transfer institution.   Applications from eligible students must be submitted in their entirety by the posted deadline, available online. Applications, application fees, supporting academic credentials, and other applicable documents received after the deadline will not be considered.

For clarification purposes, a student earning an Associate of Arts (AA) degree at a Florida public community college or a Florida State University System institution may apply to transfer to the University of North Florida within one year of receiving the AA degree only if she/he has not matriculated at another institution since earning the degree.   At this time, students who matriculated at another institution after earning an AA degree are not eligible for admission.

Students who earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree while serving on active duty in a branch of the United States military may apply for admission to transfer to the University of North Florida.  In addition to the application and supporting academic credentials, students wishing to qualify for consideration through this mechanism must provide a copy of their military orders.

Students who have earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree at an institution which has an existing articulation agreement with the University of North Florida may apply for admission to transfer to UNF.

Applications from students not meeting one of the conditions referenced above will not be considered for admission.

We understand that this is a shift from our past admissions practices; however, this change is necessary in order for the University to maintain the high academic standards and personalized service that we promise each student.

Students with less than 60 transferable semester hours or 90 transferable quarter hours may visit our lower level transfer page for more information. Official transcripts from all previous colleges must be submitted. A high school transcript should be submitted if foreign language courses were completed at that level.
