Critical Steps for Timely Disbursement
| Step 1: Apply Early |
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is the first step in the financial aid process. Use it to apply for federal student financial aid, such as the Pell Grant, student loans, and college work-study. Our school code is 009841. Complete the FAFSA online.
|
- If you need financial aid beginning in the Spring semester visit needaid.unf.edu and complete a UNF Midyear Financial Aid Request form.
- If you need aid beginning in the Summer semester visit needaid.unf.edu and complete a UNF Summer Financial Aid Request form.
|
| Step 2: Accept your Award |
A few weeks after you file your FAFSA, log in to your myWings account to review and accept your award. Most Grants and Scholarships will be accepted for you automatically, but you must accept or decline your loans and/or work study.
|
| Step 3: Complete All Requirements |
Your financial aid will not be disbursed if you have any outstanding Financial Aid Requirements. View your Financial Aid Requirements on the Students tab of myWings. For more information on Financial Aid Verification requirements, click here.
|
| Step 4: Select a Lender |
Visit the One Stop Web Site. In the Financial Aid menu on the left hand side of the page, select the option for Loans. Then click Select a Stafford Loan Lender to select a lender for Subsidized or the Unsubsidized loans. Once you have decided which lender to use, click the Select button. This will allow you to select your lender electronically. You have to select a lender for all of the Loans you accept on your award. Refer to Step 2. For PLUS and Private loan instructions, click here.
|
| Step 5: Complete an Entrance Interview |
The Entrance Interview is a 10-15 minute online tutorial that serves to educate you on your rights and responsibilities as a loan borrower. It will end with a 10 question quiz. After completing the quiz print the confirmation page for your records.
|
| Step 6: E-Sign your MPN |
If you did not e-sign a Master Promissory Note while completing Step 4, please proceed to your lender’s website and follow the directions to sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN).

| Step 7: Direct Deposit |
It's easy--Simply fill out the Direct Deposit Authorization Form, attach a voided check, sign & return the form to the Cashier's Office. You can do this in person or in the mail. It generally takes 24 hours to process your request, so your next refund will be directly deposited into your account and you will receive an email notification to that effect.
