CLEP

College-Level Examination Program
Any students seeking to CLEP out of a course should review relevant academic policies and check with the academic advisor at their current institution to be certain that the course is applicable to their program of study.

CLEP appointments are available on weekdays (schedule varies, call for available dates and times). To schedule an appointment, candidates must complete a registration form and pay a $15 administration fee. The administration fee is payable to UNF by cash, check, or money order and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Candidates may bring the registration form and fee to our office between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The total cost for each CLEP test is $80. The remaining $65 test fee is payable to CLEP by check, money order, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or JCB) on the day of the test. Walk-in testing is permitted on a space available basis (please call in advance to verify there are openings available). Note: Effective July 1, 2008, the CLEP test fee will increase from $65 to $70 bringing the total cost for each CLEP test to $85.

FTCE

Florida Teacher Certification Examinations
FTCE testing is offered on six statewide paper-based testing dates in October, January, March, April, July, and September. Select FTCE exams are now available to take on computer. For more information, including registration, pick up a FTCE registration bulletin from the UNF College of Education and Human Services or visit the FTCE/FELE website. Registration may be completed online via the FTCE website or by submitting the necessary forms supplied in the bulletin. Walk-in testing is not permitted.

GRE - General Test

Graduate Record Examinations - General Test
Testing is offered Monday through Friday with sessions starting at 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM. The GRE test fee is $140 and is payable by check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or JCB.

To schedule an appointment, call the Office of Academic Testing at 904-620-1973 or GRE at 1-800-GRE-CALL. Walk-in testing is permitted on a space available basis. We do recommend that you schedule an appointment, to test as a walk-in you must be in our office 30 minutes prior to the session start time.

To reschedule or cancel a GRE appointment, examinees must call ten full days prior to the scheduled appointment (not including the day of registration or the day of your test). The fee to reschedule is $50.

There is a GRE preparation course available through UNF's Continuing Education Department. For more information visit the Continuing Education website or call their office at 904-620-4242.

Independent Study

Test proctoring services for Independent Study exams are available for correspondence/distance learning students. There is a $35 fee per test (for up to three hours), plus $10 for each additional hour. For further information or available dates and times, call 904-620-2927.

NBPTS

National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
Candidates must have an Authorization to Test in order to schedule an appointment. First-time examinees may call the Office of Academic Testing at 904-620-1973 or the Candidate Services Call Center (CSCC) at 800-226-7958 to schedule an appointment. Retake examinees must call the CSCC to schedule an appointment. Walk-in testing is not permitted.

If you are a first-time examinee, you can call our office or the CSCC to reschedule an appointment. Retake examinees must call the CSCC to reschedule an appointment. EAYA/Art and EMC/Art candidates may call to reschedule no later than ten full days prior to the scheduled appointment. All other candidates may call to reschedule no later than three full days prior to the scheduled appointment. There is a $50 rescheduling fee. Candidates must call NPBTS at 800-22TEACH to pay the fee after rescheduling.

PRAXIS I: Academic Skills Assessments Computerized Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)

This is an academic skills assessment test for teachers. There are three parts to the test - reading, mathematics, and writing. These three tests may be taken separately or together. The combined PPST fee is $130. Taken separately, the fees are as follows: one test is $80; two tests are $120; and three tests are $160. The PRAXIS I test fee is payable by check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.

Testing is offered Monday through Friday at 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. To schedule an appointment, call the Office of Academic Testing at 904-620-1973 or PRAXIS at 1-800-853-6773. Walk-in testing is permitted on a space available basis. We do recommend that you schedule an appointment, but if you decide to test as a walk-in you must be in the office to 30 minutes prior to the session start time.

To reschedule or cancel a PRAXIS appointment, examinees must call at least three business days before the scheduled appointment and there is a $15 rescheduling fee per appointment.
