TISOLI
(Technology
In Support of Online Learning and Instruction)
The
TISOLI Group in the Information Technology Services Department of
UNF provides support for University-wide online learning technologies.
We
encourage you to look through the following links to learn more
about the services we provide and to take advantage of them.
- Blackboard
- provides the online tools used in web-enhanced (aka blended)
and fully distance learning courses, including chat and discussion,
e-mail, quizzes and document sharing. Can also be used as a communication
vehicle for non-course-based needs (e.g. administrative units,
clubs)
- Streaming
Media - permits audio, video and other multimedia to be
delivered anytime, anywhere over the Internet.
- Video
Tele-Conferencing - adds video and application sharing
capability to voice to offer a richer form of collaboration between
people communicating across a distance. VTC is commonly used for
distance learning courses and "virtual" meetings.
Along
with integrating our services with others provided generally by
Information Technology Services, such as e-mail and web hosting,
we work closely with the Center
for Instruction and Research Technology to help the CIRT
staff assist faculty with their online learning resource
needs and with the Center for Professional Development and Training to provide online training resources to staff members.
If you
would like to contact us, please send e-mail to tisoli@unf.edu
or call 620-2820.
