University Cell Phone Service
Before initiating cell phone service, faculty and staff should contact their C-tech. The University supports delivery of cellular service to a number of service providers. Your C-tech can help your department determine the provider that will best meet your needs. You will need to purchase the cell phone and service just as you do with other purchases, by first acquiring a quote and then creating a purchase requisition. Your C-tech can help you with obtaining the quote.
If you will be using your cell phone or other device to access your email, you will need to purchase a device that uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 operating system with MSFP. MSFP (stands for Messaging & Security Feature Pack) allows for real time synchronization with email.
Steps to purchase a University cell phone and cellular service:
- Contact your C-tech
- With your C-tech's assistance, select your service provider and phone model (IMPORTANT: If your phone will have email capabilities, choose a model with the Windows Mobile 5 operating system (with MSFP))
- With your C-tech's help, obtain a quote
- Create a purchase requisition
- If your phone has email capabilities, contact your C-tech when it arrives to have it set-up
Questions should be directed to your C-Tech.
