Closed Class Override

 Purpose: To give permission electronically or to override registration conflicts so that a student may register for a course.
 To Use:
  • The current term automatically apperars; if the electronic permission or override is for a different term enter the desired term.
  • Enter the term, student's social security number, and course reference number (in the four-digit section), or course information including course number, lab indicator, internal indicator, and optionally, the section number.
  • If the course is a variable hours course, the system will also prompt for entry of credit hours.
  • If the section number is not entered, permission will apply to all sections of the course.
  • To permit the student to register with signed permission, press F1.
  • To override a closed course, press F6.
  • To override course pre-requisites, press F9.
  • To override time conflicts, press F8.
  • To transfer to another screen, press the Home key, enter a screen code, and then press F5.
  • To go back to the main menu, press F12.
  • To reverse an override, place the cursor on the 'Y' and press the space bar to erase it. Press F2 to process the update.
  • Before the Permission 'Y' can be removed, all other overrides must first be removed using the above procedure, then erase the 'Y' in the Permission field and press F2 to update.

Enroll Limit:

Indicates the maximum number of students that may enroll in a course.
Permission:

Indicates whether a student has been granted permission to register for a course (0205) that requires a signature.
Blank - No permission to register for the course has been granted
Y - Permission to register for the course has been granted
Override:

Indicates whether a student has been granted an override to register for a closed course.
Blank - An override has not been granted
Y - The student has been granted an override for a closed course
Pre-Req:
(0503)
Indicates whether a student has been given an override for the prerequisites required by a course.
Blank - Student must meet course prerequisites
Y - Course prerequisites have been overridden for this student.
Time Conflict Exemp:
(0256)
Indicates whether a student has been given an override for a course that has a time conflict with another course.
Blank - An override has not been granted
Y - The student has been granted an override for a course with schedule conflicts
Class:

The student's current class designation.
C - Conditional graduate student
T - Non-degree transient or non-admitted student (default)
1 - Freshman (Hours earned < 30)
2 - Sophomore (Hours earned > 29 AND < 60)
3 - Junior (Hours earned > 59 AND < 90)
4 - Senior (Hours earned > 89)
5 - Post Bacc. (Received previous bachelors or masters degree)
6 - Fully admitted graduate student
7 - Fully admitted doctoral student
9 - Special
College:

Indicates the college a student intends to enter at the time of application .
A - College of Arts and Sciences
B - College of Business
C - College of Computer & Information Sciences

Indicates the current admission action status, and the current admission action code. This code provides more information about the admission action.
A - Admit
C - Cancel
D - Deny admission
N - No action (Default)
P - Provisional
X - See Admission Action Code

Admission action codes: If admission action = A
C - Clear
R - Readmitted into the same program
T - Tentative admit

If admission action = C
A - Cancelled by applicant recardless of admission action
M - No admission decision due to lack of information
R - Cancelled after admission because student did not register

If admission action = D
1 - Missing units
3 - Poor GPA
4 - Poor test (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, etc.)
5 - Both 3 and 4
6 - Committee action, International students
7 - Deny as graduate and admit as post bacc.

If admission action = E
N - Internal code to end the college/major line

Blank - default
D - Deferred, lower division only
P - Could be admitted to APP program if successful on College Placement Test
R - Referred

Indicates whether the student has satisfied the CLAST requirement.
A - Student has taken CLAST but passed only 3 OF 4 items of the test, and has earned < 36 hours.
D - Exempt from CLAST because of severe physical and/or learning disability. FS. 240.107(5).
H - Hold for computer processing
L - Student is restricted to registering for 1000 AND 2000 level courses. No registration overrides will be processed with this code
M - Manual clearance for students required to take CLAST
N - CLAST is required
O - Registration override
P - Student is prohibited from registering
Q - Student has completed 36 or more upper level hours without satisfying CLAST requirement
S - CLAST is required and has not been satisfied. One registration override has been given. (To be phased out 89-90)
T - CLAST Is required and has not been satisfied. Two registration overrides have been given. (To be phased out 89-90)
U - CLAST is required and has not been satisfied. Three or more registration overrides have been given. (To be phased out 89-90)
X - This code is a manual clearance for students exempt from CLAST
Y - CLAST is required and has been satisfied
Z - Reset CLAST info to spaces and CLAST satisfied to "N". Indicates whether a student has satisfied SUS immunization policy.
HL:

Indicates whether a student has satisfied SUS immunization policy.
A - Exemption given based on age. Must be 40 years or older by the beginning of a term.
D - Student has been granted a 30 day deferment to the SUS Immunization policy as required by the code of "T" .
I - Student was granted a deferment but did not satisfy the requirements as defined by code "D".
N - Student has not satisfied the immunization policy (default)
O - Student has not satisfied immunization policy, but will be allowed to register for courses taught off-campus only.
P - Student has been granted a one term exemption based on the SUS immunization policy towards pregnancy.
T - Student has satisfied immunization policy for two doses of live Measles and Rubella vaccine, or a positive Measles and a positive Rubella titer. (Applies to students admitted on/or after fall 1990).
W - One piece of documentation has been received towards satisfying the immunization policy.
X - Student has been granted a permanent exemption.
Y
- Student has satisfied immunization policy for Measles and Rubella. Students attended prior to fall 1990.
Cum GPA /Non-grad:
(0489)
Indicates the cumulative GPA for a non-graduate student.
Grad:
(0489)
Indicates the cumulative GPA for a graduate student.
Hrs:
(0488)
Indicates the number of credit hours the student has earned at UNF.

An attempt was made to enter a course call number, but the number entered is invalid.

'Course is not on file, please verify'
The course information entered was invalid.

'Enter variable hours, press F1/PF1 for permission clearance'
The course is a variable hour course; enter the applicable hours and press F1 to grant the permission clearance.

'Enter variable hours, press F1-Permission, F6-Override, F8-Time conflict exempt'
The course is a variable hour course; enter the applicable hours and press the applicable key to grant the appropriate clearance.

'Inquire complete'
An entry was found for the student.

'Inquire complete, press F1-Permission, F6-Override, F8-Time exempt, F9-Prereq'
An entry was found for the student; press one of the above keys to process necessary overrides.

'Inquire complete, press F1-permission, F9-Prereq clearance'
An entry was found for the student; press one of the above keys to process necessary overrides.

'Maintenance not permitted for this course and signon'
An attempt was made to update a record, but the user does not have the authority for this course.

'Maintenance not permitted with this signon'
An attempt was made to update a record, but the user does not have the authority for this course.

'Override indicator must be 'Y' or blank'
An attempt was made to update the override indicator, but the entry was not a 'Y' or a blank.

'Override processed'
The override was updated as displayed.

'Permission clearance processed'
The permission clearance was updated as displayed.

'Permission indicator must be 'Y' or blank'
An attempt was made to update the permission indicator, but the entry was not a 'Y' or a blank.

'Pre-Requisite clearance processed'
The prerequisite clearance was updated as displayed.

'Record must be displayed prior to add'
Enter student number and course information, then press enter to display before adding.

'Record must be displayed prior to update'
Enter student number and course information, and press enter to display. Then, press F1 to update.

'Record was successfully updated'
The record was updated as displayed.

'Section number is required'
An attempt was made to enter a course, but the section number was not entered.

'SSN is not on file, please verify'
An attempt was made to enter a student number, but that number is not in the database.

'Time conflict exempt must be 'Y' or blank'
An attempt was made to update the time conflict field, but the entry was not a 'Y' or a blank.

'Time conflict processed'
The time conflict override was successfully updated.

'Update was not successful, contact analyst'
The update was not processed; contact an analyst in Information Technology Services.

'Variable hrs is not in range for this course'
An attempt was made to enter variable hours, but the hours entered do not fall in the range for the course.
